Just a few kilometers from the town of Klanjec, surrounded by centuries-old trees, is the chapel of St. Florian, the patron saint of the town of Klanjec. It was first mentioned in 1690 in a canonical visit when it was built and opened. The present chapel was built from the ground up in 1742 and completely rebuilt in 1899. Due to moisture and leakage, the interior painting of the fresco by painter Sikošek from Brežice was in very poor condition and is now awaiting restoration.

To commemorate the 1900th anniversary of the death of Jesus Christ on the cross on Calvary, in 1933 the citizens of Klanjec decided to erect the Way of the Cross by the chapel on a nearby hill. Because of its miniature and limited space, the mass served on the Feast of St. Florian is listened to through large windows, one on each side.

Today, the road to the chapel of St. Florian is marked by several landscaped resting points.
